Our yearly Literary Festival is set to begin soon, and we have some exciting opportunities and experiences for our children to participate in.     

The children will experience the power of words through the thrilling choral speaking competition, culminating in a live MLT final. Winning groups from both KS1 and KS2 will be invited to attend the final at Maltby Academy on Friday 27 September 2024. The rest of school will watch the final virtually. We are also thrilled to announce special guest appearances by acclaimed poet and performer, Paul Cookson and illustrator and children’s author, Liz Million. They will run assemblies and workshops sharing their love of books, their life as authors/illustrators and inspiring our next generation of writers.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in school from 17 – 27 September 2024.

During the week, the children will be taking part in a Sponsored Readathon. Sponsor forms will be coming home with the children soon. All the money raised will go towards books for our school. The class with the most pages read will win books for their class reading area.

During the day on Thursday 26 September, children will have the opportunity to purchase some of Paul and Liz’s books. Liz’s books are priced at £6 each. If your child is interested in purchasing a book, please send them to school on that day with their money in a labelled envelope. If possible, correct change.
